I was thinking about this yesterday, and I wanted to mention that during the summer, it is especially important to pay attention to home safety issues. Especially with kids and swimming pools. Also, if you have palm trees in the back yard, I can tell you from first-hand experience how easy it is to slice your head open on the stalk of a Mexican fan palm. That happened to me last summer, and it's not fun.
Also, be sure to check the batteries on your smoke detectors, and test them frequently. You would be surprised at how many people forget to do this. If your house needs a smoke detector, let me know, and I'll send you one for free. That's how strongly I feel about these! The average house needs two or three units to be safe.
